Abortion for the curious
Before everything, some daily updates! A home day today because Boyf and i would be heading to town tomorrow. He wanna get jeans from Denizen and there's a sale tomorrow. Also i wanna eat KFC $4 ONE-OF-A-KIND-COMBO, all my favourites. And i'm gonna wear the bralet Baby got me because he said that i always wear clothes for once or twice and stop wearing so i'm gonna show him i'll "re-wear" clothes very often otherwise he won't buy me anymore clothes :(
And i'll try to do a make-up video before i head out tomorrow, if i'm not rushing HAHA because i'm always late and have to fucking rush like no end.
Photos all not by Cam, lousy quality.
I think i suck at editing.
I miss Baby's hair colour.
The "GI-NORMOUS" bee outside my boyf's window now, and he's finding a way to chase it away. But seems like Mr Bee does not wanna go away. HOW! :(
Sorry if i'm gonna bore you guys but i think it's really important for some girls. So i've to blog about this. Many of you, i realized, have me asking me about abortion. The rates, the procedure, confidentiality, private or government, level of pain? But this post is solely what i've heard/know so please call up the clinics to reconfirm. And i'm be writing in layman term in case of Xiaomeimeis reading hahaha, easier for you girls to understand because usually, from what i think(i know i'm very mean but face it, it's real!) females going abortion nowadays mostly are young girls, teenagers? Maybe like Secondary school or Poly/Jc HAHA! MY thinking!
Yeah, so i'll be doing a post on this so that you girls could refer. Hope this helps! Honestly when i'm writing up this post and looking at the photos from Google, i'm fucking disgusted. Because all the mutated photos they put online, just could make anyone lose their appetite.
Don't worry, i'm NOT gonna post those photos haha. Not for the faint-hearted. Just some procedure reference for those curious girls or guys?
Starting off for dummies, what is abortion?
Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy.
So, please think twice before you have sex next time, or just use contraceptives ^^
For private clinics:
Rates would be at least 1k to +/-7k? It depends on the trimester of pregnancy so logically, bigger equals to more ex!
For 1st trimester(4-12weeks), you would be given a jab and during the whole procedure you'll be asleep.
But from what i heard, for 2nd trimester(13 weeks-24 weeks), the Gynae would recommend this method instead. First by sticking a metal rod into your vagina to cervix to dilate the cervix. Then he would ask you to push and he'll use some equipment to pull the fetus out, in whole, which means body perfectly intact. Which is much better than the procedure shown in the picture above right?(Found the picture on Google but it does not definitely applies to SG)
Of course scrapping of uterus is a must for either procedures and you'll either be put to sleep for this or from waist and below "temporary paralyzed". No worries! Just anaesthesia.
Confidentiality is 100% guaranteed as long as you're 16 and above. They get you to sign this letter of "private and confidential" so you do not have to worry. But, if you're below 16 then they would have to inform your parents and you'll have to go for counselling. So, good luck to you.
Level of pain you ask? I would say it depends on what trimester you are at, how big your fetus is. But 1st trimester of pregnancy, it's painless trust me. Because you would be asleep for the whole procedure but the aftermath is the hard part. You'll be bleeding for a few weeks(depending on individuals) and cramps, fatigue is a confirmed effect. Must take good care and eat well!
But for 2nd trimester i guess the procedure would be painful because you will have to be awake. The Gynae needs you to push and it'll be pain dilating your cervix.
For Government Hospital(KK Hospital):
Rates would be max 1.5k even though it's 2nd trimester and includes staying a night in the hospital for monitoring. For 1st trimester it will be much more lower than 1k so i'd rather you girls go to KK instead of private.
Procedure for the 1st trimester is the same, just refer to the top. And for 2nd trimester it's slightly different. You'll have to be hospitalized for a day or more depending on your body. I heard that you'll have to go for counselling and shits like that, check up to make sure your body is fine for the procedure, blood test etc. And it's kind of troublesome but it's better i guess.
Then they'll stick this pill into your vagina every 4 hours. That's to force open your cervix. I don't know how many dosage but a few. And you'll definitely feel pain and cramps but the nurses over there would monitor you and give you painkillers if there's a need. After dosage your fetus would naturally "fall" into your vagina and you've got to push a little for the body to come out. Then scrapping of uterus as per normal.
IF the pill fails, your cervix do not want to open, then they'll have to stick in the metal rod instead so more days staying in the hospital.
Confidentiality is guaranteed as long as you request for it before everything and also 18 and above. I'm not too sure about 16 or 17 because no one have mentioned that to me before. So maybe you could call up to check? No harm calling^^ But counselling and all is a must whatever your age is.
Level of pain is also depending on the trimester but for 2nd trimester, the pill dosage is much better than the rod procedure, less pain haha.
So, government or private?
I'll urge you to go to government because it's way much cheaper, and there'll be nurses to monitor you when you stay overnight and they'll make sure you're 100% ok before discharging you. Not bad. By that i meant you'll have to show them that you could pee, then they'll allow you to go.
That's about it. This are what i know, i'm NOT working at any hospital or clinic so my information given may be wrong but i've given you the most accurate and fullest i know so i'm sorry if i'm wrong.
Any more questions you could ask me @ MY FORMSPRING!
But before everything, please make a call to the clinic 1st, and good luck^^
